The Rechnitzer Gallery represents and presents the new generation of contemporary artists. Our goal is to give space to fresh, innovative voices and to provide them with a platform both domestically and internationally.

The gallery was founded by Zsófia Rechnitzer in 2024. The professional, experienced in both the non-profit and commercial art world, has been an active player in the Hungarian contemporary art scene since the beginning of the 2010s. After studying fine art theory at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, he continued his studies at the University of Warwick, History and Business of the Contemporary Art Market. Thanks to his work experience, he has extensive knowledge and insight into the global processes of contemporary art and the art market. In addition to the gallery that bears his name, he is the artistic director of Torula, a non-profit contemporary art exhibition space and studio house in Győr.

The name of the Gallery is also a tribute to Dr. János Rechnitzer, Grand Doctor of Geography and Professor Emeritus of Széchenyi István University, who was known for his passionate commitment to fine arts as an art collector.
