Fujimoto from Hokkaido. In 1994, he obtained a degree in architecture from the Technical Faculty of the University of Tokyo. In 2000, he founded his own office called Sou Fujimoto Architects. The first successes in his country were followed by inquiries and assignments abroad, and within a decade and a half Sou Fujimoto became one of Japan's foremost architects, who today is as at home in Europe as in the Far East. In 2010, he designed the Museum and Library of the Musashino University of Art in Tokyo, and already on these plans the sensitive relationship between architecture and nature appeared, which has been his trademark ever since.
