„The new exhibition of the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary, introducing the representative works of twelve Korean photographers, sheds light on the historical scene in Korean contemporary photography which has been continuously converging and diverging since its beginning in the late 1980s. These artists represent diverse generations with a thirty year maximum age-gap (from the so-called ‘generation 586’ to Millennials) and are producing remarkable work in their own right. The exhibition ‘Korean Contemporary Photography: Insights into Nature and Humanity’ is kaleidoscopic as it embraces the historical flow of Korean photography from the late 1980s to the early 2010s and captures the present moment at the same time. The overall scene of Korean contemporary photography is presented through the individual achievement of twelve artists while the dynamic flow of change and stillness is also outlined.
The exhibition is an official part of the Budapest Photo Festival 2023.
The exhibition can be visited for free between 3 April and 30 June in the Korean Cultural Center in Budapest.
