Lúpína is an Icelandic/Norwegian performer. Considered Icelandic artist, songwriter and producer Lúpína started on her solo career by releasing her dreamy Icelandic synth pop single ‘alein’ in autumn 2022. Since then, she has captivated audiences with her singles and albums ‘ringluð’, in early 2023, and ‘MARGLYTTA’ or “jellyfish” in the fall of 2024. Lúpína’s music is a fusion of Icelandic lyric-focused Scandi pop, where she explores the boundaries of pop music, blending different genres seamlessly. She brings a fresh perspective to Icelandic music, infusing it with global appeal while staying true to her roots. Of Sunna Margrét’s debut album Finger on Tongue, The Quietus wrote: “Oddball Icelandic pop packs a dense punch, heavy with ideas.” Her music fuses hypnotic rhythms, jagged synth lines and raw, magnetic vocals, creating songs that are playful and unsettling. Electronic Sound called it “weaving reinvented trip-hop,” while Sunna cites CAN’s experimental drive, Suzanne Ciani’s synth futurism and PJ Harvey’s intensity as influences. Sunna’s Iceland Airwaves 2024 performance was described by The Line of Best Fit as “Spacey, dramatic, rhythmically hypnotising”, with Paste Magazine noting “I’ll not soon forget Margrét’s kaleidoscopic, unearthly show” featuring Sunna in their ’10 Best Acts We Saw At Iceland Airwaves’ and listing ‘Finger on Tongue’ as one of “The 40 Best Debut Albums of 2024”. Ahead of her January 2025 show at ESNS Sunna was the artist second most recommended by media. Knackered:
From the North of Jutland in Denmark to the northernmost capital in the world, Iceland-based producer Knackered has been part of the Reykjavik grassroots scene since 2015. Iceland based producer and performer Knackered, "one of Iceland Airwaves’ 25 most hotly-anticipated performances" as stated by The Line of Best Fit, is characterised by genre-defying and playful electronic music that merges contemporary club music with pop structures. She’s been part of the Reykjavik underground scene since 2015 and her debut EP FYI (for your information) was released last November.
