Port 9 first opened in 2016, a pioneer in Icelandic wine culture. Since they have extended their wine selection, offering wine from all over the world.
It is located in Veghúsastígur 9a and is linked to the first tanner in Iceland, Bergur Einarsson, who built the original house in 1910 as both his home and a tannery workshop. The building has since housed several other businesses, including the Máni soap factory, Smári margarine factory, Helgafell publishing house, and Víkingsprent printing press. Today, the site has been redeveloped and contains various apartments as part of the hotel.
