Hljómsveitin Rakur spilar Jangle-indí-popp tónlist sem höfðar til allra sem kljást við óöryggi, vanlíðan og einmanaleika í nútímasamfélagi. Reynt er að ná utan um þessar tilfinningar með blöndu af léttleika og alvarleika sem skiptast á og hliðra hvorn annan. Hljómsveitin var stofnuð af vinum sem vildu einfaldlega spila góða tónlist saman. Textarnir voru flestir samdir á bar, í heimapartýjum eða á tónleikum sem veittu innblástur. Þar af leiðandi er textinn fullur af hrárri sjálfskoðun en einnig kímni og skemmtun.

The band Rakur plays Jangle-indie-pop music that appeals to anyone who struggles with insecurity, discomfort and loneliness in modern society. They try to manage these feelings with a mix of lightness and seriousness that alternate and complement each other. The band was formed by friends who simply wanted to play good music together. Most of the lyrics were written in bars, at house parties or at concerts that inspired them. As a result, the lyrics are full of raw introspection but also humor and fun.

RAKUR plays at Tónabíó on October 18th at 9:00 PM. Free admission but always welcome to support the artists.
