ABOUT THE VAKUFELAGID
The Vakufelágid promotes active dialogue and collaboration between individuals, associations and institutions in the field of folk art culture in Iceland. 

Folk arts consist of diverse traditions of music, singing, crafts, poetry, storytelling, performance, etc. They are constantly evolving, based on dialogue with previous generations and connecting the past with the present. 

The Vakufelágid organizes diverse events throughout the year. The focus of its activities is the Vaka Folk Art Festival, which will be held from 15 to 22 September 2025 in Reykjavík.
